I'm looking online and people are easily getting 10 second boot times, or even lower, and a friend of mine claims he gets a 3 second boot time, which I don't even seem to be near. I'm not sure whether I'm using AHCI or not (I think I am due to some program telling me I did which I ran a while back) but my BIOS doesn't have any settings at all, literally, except to change the boot order and the time. Everything after that works a lot faster in general, but I'm not sure why these boot time speeds are so slow. This is the time from when I press the power button, to the time that I get to the log in screen. So, I installed this new SSD in my computer with Windows 8, then upgraded to Windows 8.1, and initially, I was getting about 25-30 second boot times, and about a month later, it's taking about 40-50 seconds or even longer.
